Search Quran Tips
To make search more effective, the following guidelines may be helpful.
- If you are looking to search a specific Surah (chapter) of the Quran, you can prefix your search with ch:number.
So for instance, to search the word "house" in the second chapter (Al-Baqarah) of Quran, you can use the
query "ch:2 house". To search multiple chapters, use the notatiaon ch:number1-number2. To search for test of life
in the first five chapters, "ch:1-5 test life".
- You can use multiple words to target your query. If more than one keyword is specified, we search all of those
words in every verse that is returned.
- We do not search for common words, such as "some", "many", "last" etc. If you use any such words in your
query, they will be ignored.
- We do not search for three or less character words. As a result, use words that are four or more characters.
Words of length three characters or less will be ignored in search.
- If you have too many search results being returned, use additional keywords in your query so the result size
becomes smaller.
